My family had an amazing experience visiting and adopting 2 kittens. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable about their animals, not to mention we felt like family upon entering the building. Thank you for going above and beyond to help us make the decision to bring home our new fur babies right on time for the holidays ❤️
Really appreciate all of these guys! We adopted our beautiful, smart, amazing puppy from them just before Christmas. It is clear that they all really care about the animals they take in, and are very good at their job. I highly recommend looking for a new pet here, there's lots of sweet ones that really need homes! And they're certainly treated better here then they probably are at a breeder.
I got a call about the pup (Zora) I sent in the application for and a few hours later I was bringing him home. The process was easy but they gave me so much helpful information and a bit of food and bag of toddies to get us started. Please please please if you are looking for a pup to check them out.
The people who work at this shelter are very accommodating and kind and clearly want what’s best for the animals. They are understanding of personal situations and supportive of the decisions you make for your animals :) they are doing the best they can given the impossible situation of supporting the endless supply of animals that need care and love. The facility was clean and welcoming :)
We were so happy to bring these two babies home and all the staff made it so easy. Everyone is so nice and efficient there. I highly recommend going there if you're planning on having a new friend for life.
We went to the Humane Society last Saturday to look to adopting a older Dog. The foster family brought in a sweet older dog but it was to larger for our situation. As we started heading home we asked if there where any other dog that would meet our needs. Cathy a Volunteer brought us to meet Sunflower a very sweet girl. Sunflower warned up to us and our other dog Ginger that was with us. It was a great experience and the volunteers and staff was so helpful with the adoption of Sunflower.
I would highly recommend getting your new pet at the Forsyth Humane Society. We have adopted several cats and dogs from them over the years.
Again thanks for everyone help
I visited this location with my client that wanted a dog as an emotional support animal. Initially the location seemed very polite and helpful. They were fast with trying to get the animals a home. My client could barely handle the dog. The manager (Susan, Sherry or Sharon) can't remember the exact name right now pulled my client and I into her office. Instead of stating that she did not believe that my client could handle the dog, she antagonized me. Before including me in the conversation, she had already mentioned to my client that she was denying her request due to it not being a good fit and she did not feel comfortable letting the dog go with my client. That should have been the end of the conversation. I never talked to her about anything. I was talking to the person in the office beside her about some things regarding the dog. This manager asked my client about other dogs which would have possibly interacted with the client's boyfriend animals. After more probing she looks at me stating that she is hearing conflicting stories about the dog and she heard that it would be in the boyfriend's home. I believe she even blamed me directly for stating this. NEVER said this to anyone! It's like the telephone game was played or "Don't get it twisted " where someone messes up what was said. She was out with my client and the dog. She had already denied my client and should have kept me out of the conversation. My client and I still have to ride other places. The atmosphere afterwards was off. Trying to throw me under the bus in front of my client in the I/DD population will NEVER be acceptable. She needs to learn a better way of saying no without trying to ridicule or intentionally hurt someone else's feelings especially as a manager or with leadership position.
Please think about adopting from here. So many dogs that need a loving home. The staff is so wonderful here. If you're not ready to adopt you can donate at the counter.
